Enhanced — and Enhancing — Virtualization

One of the key principles of server virtualization is the idea of decoupling the application and the services it requires from the underlying hardware platform. This gives the applications "independence." It also allows the server hardware to be thought of as generic compute nodes — that can be swapped out, upgraded, repurposed and highly utilized easily.

Unfortunately, there remain many applications for which virtualization is not yet practical. This is limiting the extent to which companies are able to leverage the benefits of virtualization.

Virtensys I/O Virtualization solution

Virtensys VIO-4000 series I/O Virtualization appliances allow servers hosting non-virtualized applications as well as servers hosting virtualized applications to be deployed with much greater flexibility — separating the physical I/O from the server, and providing the ability to manage and optimize I/O across all the servers.
