How is network security implemented when VIO-4000 appliances are used?
The standard network security practices employed in traditional server I/O deployment models can be used to manage LAN/SAN security when the VIO-4000 appliances are deployed.
If one of the servers connected to the VIO-4000 appliance is infected by a virus, does it affect the other servers?
No; Each server connected to the VIO-4000 applaince is totally isolated from the other servers, even when they are sharing the same physical I/O adapter. If a server is infected by a virus the other servers are totally isolated and not affected.
