Ahmet Houssein
President & CEO
Ahmet has established expertise in successfully building and growing high-tech organizations with over 30 years of industry experience, most recently as president and CEO of Silverback Systems, sold to Brocade in 2007. Prior to that, Ahmet was VP/GM of Adaptec's Storage Solutions Group. Before joining Adaptec, Ahmet was with Intel Corporation, where he was one of the key leaders in the creation of the Next Generation I/O (NGIO) and general manager of Home Server Operation. Additionally Ahmet was a founding board member of the Storage Network Industry Association (SNIA).
Steve Calkins
VP Worldwide Sales
Prior to joining Virtensys, Mr. Calkins served as Vice president of Worldwide Sales for Silverback Systems (acquired by Brocade in January 2007) where he was responsible for OEM and Channel sales. Before Silverback, Mr. Calkins was a Sales and Marketing Vice President for Adaptec, Inc., where he was instrumental in its OEM, distribution and reseller channels, and developed its reseller-partner program. Before Adaptec Inc., he served as Regional Vice President of Zenith Data Systems at which during his tenure reached the billion-dollar annual revenue mark. He has more than 28 years of sales and marketing experience. Mr. Calkins holds a bachelor's degree from Ferris State University.
Marek Piekarski
CTO
Before founding Virtensys in December 2005, Marek was a Product Architect of the Integrated Systems group in Xyratex Technology Ltd. In this role he was responsible for identifying applications and developments of the switching technology Xyratex acquired from Power X Networks. Marek was also the technical lead on the SIVSS consortium project developing novel storage and interconnect solutions for video server applications.
Paul Lombardelli
VP Component Engineering
Paul brings 19 years engineering and management experience to the Virtensys team. Prior to founding Virtensys he was a Senior Program Manager with both Xyratex and Cadence where Paul successfully executed number of multimillion dollar projects, establishing design and manufacturing flows, managing high value outsourcing contracts and delivering working silicon devices. Paul also held the position of Director of IC Design with Power X Networks, managing the ASIC design department and delivering to market the award winning TeraChannel chipset.
Manoj Agnihotri
VP Systems Development
Manoj Agnihotri joined Virtensys in October 2007 and is the VP of Systems Development. Mr. Agnihotri has over 16 years of experience in strategic planning, architecture and engineering management of System level products. Prior to joining Virtensys, Mr. Agnihotri was with Intel Corp for 12 years, where he held several senior management positions delivering innovative products like the first Web-based Server management product at Intel and server appliance product that won the Intel Achievement Award. Additionally he was the lead mobile strategist for key office and consumer initiatives for Centrino platforms for three generation. He has a MBA from Oregon Graduate Institute and Bachelor degrees in Computer Technology and Physics from University of Bombay (Mumbai), India. He is an inventor on 6 patents.
Bob Napaa
VP Business Development
Bob brings more than 17 years experience in the semiconductor industry. He was previously the VP of Marketing and Business Development for System Solution BU at Alliance Semiconductor, responsible for the BU's P&L. Prior to joining Alliance, Bob was at SiPackets since its inception in 2001 as VP of Marketing and Business Development where he developed the business and product strategy for the company. He was instrumental in the acquisition of Sipackets by Alliance Semiconductor in 2002. Prior to founding SiPackets, Bob spent more than 10 years at IDT and his last role was the Director of Marketing for the Communications and Microprocessor division.
Hong Wong
Director of System Architecture
Hong has over 22 years of system architecture, design, project management experience. He has held key technical and management positions in Sequent, nCUBE and most recently Intel. His design experience encompasses customer chip design, ultra mobility device, notebook, blade server, to super computer. Hong holds a MSEE degree from Washington State University. He has 40 granted/pending patents.
